James Fleming
Hi, my name is James and I'm an undergraduate studying computer science at UCSD hoping to someday work in academia. I am currently an undergraduate researcher at SEELab working on Hyperdimensional Computing and Robust Domain Adaptation and Yian Ma's Lab working on Machine Learning Theory and Language Diffusion Models with Provable Guarantees with Xunpeng Huang and on some other Generalization Theory projects. Also previously did some work at QLab working on Continuous State Reasoning and Language Diffusion Models, the SOC Lab on Optimization Theory and the Computer Systems Intelligence Lab on Computer Vision.
My main research interests lie at the intersection of ML theory (spanning approximation, optimization, and generalization) and architecture/algorithm design. I also have a soft spot for theoretical computer science, pure math (minus number theory), and rendering algorithms, both classical and differentiable.
